As per new reports, two women below the age of 50 years had walked into the Sabarimala temple allegedly disturbing the purity of the temple in Kerala in the wee hours on Wednesday. This is the first instance of such an alleged entrance since the Supreme Court verdict in the matter.
It is also reportedly known that the main sanctum sanctorum of the temple was shut down soon after the authorities came to know about the incident. It was closed at 10.30 am three hours earlier than scheduled time.
The mobile phone video grab of the women entering the temple became viral and it was identified that two women in their 40’s had entered and offered prayer at the temple. It is said the this is the first incident when women of menstruating age have entered the temple and offered prayer since the SC verdict on the issue.
It is also worth reminding here that two women had reportedly tried to climb wall of the temple and tried to enter the premises but were deterred by the security.
The NSS has on the other hand has reportedly said that it would do anything and go to any extent to protect the customs of the Ayyappa temple.
