A combined study by doctors at AIIMS, Delhi Sher-i-Kashmir Institute If Medical Sciences (SKIMS) on eating habits of women shows that those who include non-vegetarian food in their diet are at lesser risk of having diseases such as diabetes, cardiac diseases, cancer and obesity as compared to the ones who consume vegetarian meals.

Study Funded By DBT, Delhi
The study was conducted on women aging between 18-40 years and is funded by the department of bio technology, DBT, Government Of India. A total number of 464 women were registered from Delhi and Kashmir from 2015-2018.
Women from Kashmir less prone to diseases
Women who were vegetarian were from Delhi while who consumed meat were from Kashmir. Results show that women from Kashmir who took five non-vegetarian meals a week were found to be less prone to diseases as compared to women in Delhi who consumed vegetarian diet.
