According to the research, published in the Geriatrics & Gerontology International, using sleeping pills regularly is associated with the use of an increasing number of blood pressure medications over time.
Jose Banegas, Senior author from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in Spain Reportedly said that earlier reports on link of sleep characteristics with blood pressure and hypertension we’re concentrated on middle-aged adults but the associations we’re absent or uncertain among older adults.
752 Older Adults Involved For The Study
For the purpose of study, the team of scientists involved 752 older adults with hypertension followed from 2008-2010 through 2012-2013.
