JAIPUR | Updated – January 24, 2018

The most controversial film of 2017 and early 2018 – Padmaavat is all set for a release tomorrow Friday January 25, 2018. Just a day before its pan-India release, the film seems to have failed in impressing the viewers during its screening.

Some critics reportedly suggest that the film might fail in impressing the average viewer while others predict that the film has failed in doing justice with Deepika Padukone.

In all, the controversy over the film might be able to fetch a large audience at the theatres but the danger of ruckus by Karni Sena and other activist groups might deter people from actually going to the cinema on the first day. Besides after the violence in MemNagar in Gujarat on Tuesday, the cinema hall owners have also refused to screen the movie. Now, it seems that only those who could afford to have high level of security arrangement could actually screen the movie at the theaters.

Sources predict that that the audience might wait for a day or two for the ruckus and hullabaloo by the activist groups to die down and then the people might walk to the theaters to have a glimpse at the film that has set in motion governments of many states to make necessary preparations for maintaining peace during the release of the film on January 25 Thursday.

Meanwhile, there have been constant reports of violence and ruckus at malls in various parts of northern states including Gujarat. In order to avoid any problem, malls and cinema halls have put up large boards outside the buildings to make aware people that they would not be screening the film at the theater.

In his address before the media Kalvi has said that the censor board should exercise its power under section (6) and recall the screening of Padmaavat.
