Eating Nuts Can Keep Diabetics’ Heart Healthy

Eating small amount of nuts daily, specially tree nuts, may decrease the risk of Cardiovascular disease among people with type 2 diabetes, linked with a more risk of high cholesterol, heart disease and stroke, according to researchers, including one of Indian origin.

Tree Nuts Associated With Lesser Risk Of Cardiac Death

Tree nuts like walnuts, cashews, almonds, pistachios, Brazil nuts, pecans, hazelnuts and pine nuts were found to be strongly connected with lessening risk of coronary events, cardiac death and total mortality compared with peanuts. The findings showed that eating a handful of nuts had a considerable effect.

A Study Reported In The Circulation Research Journal

The study was reported in the Circulation Research Journal. For the purpose of study, a team of researchers used data from 16,217 men and women before and after they were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
