Kushal Singh (name changed), father of 10-year-old Rajat is helpless. Not because that he is poor or he has nothing to eat or feed his children but he is high and dry because his son is addicted to PUBG. Everyday, his son promises him to limit or stop plying the game altogether but the very next day, Kushal finds his son glued to the PUBG screen. Not only Rajat’s academic performance has come down, he has started becoming a loner and now prefers to be online with his PUBG mates than actual real-life friends in the real world.

You may find this instance as an extreme case but you never know when your kid falls in the trap. It’s the degree of addiction that differs and once a child gets addicted to it, he remains obsessed until his whole family or child’s own foresight rescues him or her.

Taking a notable step in this regard, China has banned online gaming for minors between 10pm and 8am. This is really a welcome step. If a nation wishes its new generation to be able citizens, such a drastic move is must.

Now, that the Chinese government has limited gamers to 90 minutes a day, imposing video game curfew, it is time that others nations too come up with similar restrictions in theirs too.

Don’t forget that children are children, if you do not check them at the right time, they are the ones who will blame you and say, “You did not save us from the wreck.”

It is time, it is the right moment when India should also step up and impose a ban on online gaming for children. This might sound autocratic to children and child protection activists but it is the need of the hour!

We, as part of VisheshBaat Team request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come up with a move to help prevent children from falling a prey to online games and gaming.

We are sure that the decision taken by PM Modi will be an altogether notable and innovate step with which neither the children will be offended. Rather, children will realize that online gaming or playing, wasting time on the small screen is useless.
