In the politically sensitive Ram Janmabhoomi – Babri Masjid, the Supreme Court will start hearing from today at 2PM on many petitions related to the land ownership dispute. A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Deepak Mishra will hear the case. Prior to the hearing of the case, all the concerned parties had handed over the documents to the court.

However, reports indicate that there could no chances of reconciliation in the said matter as the Babri Masjid’s advocate is said to have negated all possibilities of reconciliation.

The Supreme Court hearing in the Ayodhya case today is very important because a special bench chaired by Chief Justice Deepak Mishra had dismissed Sunni Waqf Board and others’ plea that the petitions should be heard after the next general elections. It was on December 5 last year that the court had decided that it would start the final hearing on February 8 from these petitions and asked the parties to hand over all the related legal papers in this regard.
