The WhatsApp Payment system has been launched, UPI based e-wallet feature is sure to make person to person money transfer easier. However, it has been launched for some Beta testers as of now for Android as well as iOS users. Soon it will be launched for all the users, sources said.

WhatsApp, the messaging chat app that has become indispensable part of our daily life is soon to come up with yet another feature, sources said. This new feature is the UPI based payment system Whatsapp e-wallet.
The transition from a mere chat messaging app to business app and now payment system has added another chapter in the popularity of the Facebook owned WhatsApp. Though the new feature has been rolled out to a chosen few but it is said that it will be soon released for all the users. It is said that its testing is being done and once the testing is over and all the bugs are removed, user based inputs are put in, the final update to the Whatsapp will be available for download by all the users.
It is said that Facebook has intentionally integrated UPI based payment system with WhatsApp in order to cash in on its present userbase. On the other hand, the new Whatsapp will be competing with present giants such as PayTM, GoogleTez, BHIM and others to name a few.

Integration of the payment system and enabling Whatsapp as e-wallet would make it an instant hit as there are large number of its users across the globe. Reports regarding the Whatsapp payment feature release have been there for the past one year but there has been no final comment in this regard by the company.
As per the information, the new WhatsApp feature will be available under the Settings menu and users have to enable it and integrate it with their banks just like other e-wallets.
For the past many days there have been many reports of this feature’s slow release by Whatsapp but people have been anxiously searching GooglePlay, Apple Store and other app stores in anticipation, but in vain.

What is Whatsapp payment feature?
It is similar to PayTM and other e-wallets but the users need not have to download an additional app and it will presumably be integrated into the present messaging platform so as to make it useful for over 1 billion users in India. What will be the use of Whatsapp UPI?
Its use? It will be able to transfer funds just like PayTM, Google Tez and BHIM but will also give an extra edge that you will be able to instantly check with the other Whatsapp user whether he or she has received the fund or not. Since it will be IMPS based it will be instant money faster and you can help any of your cash strapped partner at any hour.
It will be a free app?
Yes, as per the initial reports there will be no charges for using the app however, for normal free users there would be a limit just as there is a limit for use in PayTM and other e-wallets.
