Japan is regularly struck by major storms during the summer and autumn but the latest Jebi Typhoon seems to be the strongest one in the last 25 years. As per reports, it has killed over 9 people and over 3000 are still stranded at major airports. On Wednesday, High waves triggered by Typhoon Jebi are seen at a fishing port in Aki, Kochi Prefecture, western Japan. The country’s weather agency has reportedly said that it could further bring violent winds and heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, following the deadly Typhoon Jebi that has hit Japan, the Japanese administration has issued evacuation advisories for more than a million people and canceled hundreds of flights as Typhoon Jebi sliced across the west. Authorities also called on residents to avoid any unnecessary trips outside due to typhoon Jebi.

Till reports last came in at least six deaths and 160 injuries were reported due to the Typhoon Jebi which made landfall in western areas on Shikoku island.

Kansai International Airport flooded

As per reports, the Kansai International Airport has flooded on Tuesday creating havoc at airports and damaging buildings. Further, a ship also crashed into airport bridge as the Typhoon Jebi reached Japan creating much devastation. A fuel tanker also reportedly collided into a bridge linking Kansai International airport in Izumisano, Osaka prefecture, western Japan following which the airport was flooded and flights were suspended. At least 5000 people were being transported out of typhoon-hit Kansai airport.

Jebi has reportedly been downgraded to a tropical storm and is heading north of Japan.
