A 52-year-old man who was diagnosed with osteoarthritis felt that doing simple everyday tasks was discouraging. He had been bearing a pain in his big toe that was going worse and also could unable to wear most shoes.

Performed At Sahyadri Super Speciality Hospital

This week, the man undergone a toe implant surgery and with this he became the first Indian who have undertaken such kind of surgery. The surgery was performed at the Sahyadri Super Speciality Hospital in Hadapsar.

The patient even got discharged one day after the surgery process and will be able to begin daily activities within four weeks. Osteoarthritis is a musculoskeletal disorder which is characterized by a slow loss of cartilage in joints that results in bones rubbing together and leads to rigidity, pain and impaired movement.
