Teej – A festival of Peace, Happiness, Love & Care
The Shukla Paksha Tritiya is celebrated as Teej in Shravan month. Sinjara is a day ahead of Teej and is mainly the festival of and dedicated to women.
Just before this festival, arrival of rain already takes place and sheet of greenery is spread all over the earth. Women in groups sing songs and swing on the swings. There is a festive mood all around during this time of the year. As there is a greenery all around, the festival is also known as ‘Hariyali Teej’. The festival of Hariyali Teej is especially celebrated in Rajasthan.
During the period of Hariyali Teej specially Goddess Parvati is worshipped as she is the one who brings peace and happiness to the family.
Sinjara-Teej celebrations in Omaxe City
Women residing in Omaxe City Jaipur held an event at Banquet Hall Urbanite, Omaxe City and celebrated Sawan Ri Teej 2019 on the day of Teej on Saturday. Dressed in their best, women and children who participated in the event, greeted each other on the occasion, sung traditional songs and Sawan Geet and also worshipped Goddess Parvati.
Preparations for the event were on for the past many days as all the women remained busy in making the event a gala one on Saturday. Dressed in traditional Lehenga Odhni, saree and other traditional wear, women and children also held a group dance event in which all the participants took part enthusiastically.
The event was organized and arranged by women of Omaxe City with special role played by Mrs. Deepa Chauhan and Mrs. Swati Saraswat.
During Sinjara on Friday, a Mehandi event was organized in which all the women participated and applied heena on their hands and feet.

Pooja Muhurat Hariyali Teej
This time, auspicious time of Teej Pooja is being made from 3.31 in the afternoon to 10.21 at night. All the devotees worship, Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. They also perform Bhajan-kirtan.
As per the Indian tradition, the daughter-in-law offers clothes and r other gifts to her father-in-law and mother-in-law and. The mother-in-law leaves some fruit or money on the food plate for the daughter-in-law.
On Sinjara day, women go to meet each other and seek blessings from the elderly women living in their neighborhood. In the evening, the women swing together and sing songs of Teej and Sawan.
