Budding grand masters to checkmate at State Level Under-13 Chess Tournament in Jaipur

The best brains would be gathering in Mansarovar on Saturday as budding grand masters from various schools of Rajasthan would be participating in the Rajasthan State Level Under-13 Chess Tournament to be held in Jaipur.

The Rajasthan State Level Under-13 (BOYS AND GIRLS) Chess Tournament would be organized on April 28 and April 29 by Jaipur District Chess Association under the aegis of ARCA. The district level event would be organized at Ankur Banquet Hall in Mansarovar in Jaipur from 8.30 am onward on April 28 and April 29.

There would be 7 rounds in each category and the first round would start at 9 am during the two-day event. Four rounds would be conducted on April 28 and three rounds would be held on April 29. The prize ceremony for the successful candidates would be organized at 5 pm on April 29.

Total Cash Prizes of Rs20,000 and trophies would be given to the winners. Four chess players, two boys and two girls, would be selected at the tournament. These four children would be representing Rajasthan state at the National Level Chess Tournament to be held in Ahmedabad in June this year. Several participants have enrolled as participants from schools situated in different districts of Rajasthan.

A lot of Chess enthusiasts and budding grand masters from St. Xavier’s School, Nevta have also enrolled for the state under-13 category chess event. Students have enrolled enthusiastically for the event and have been preparing well for the event, said Mr Sandeep Golechha. Mr Golechha further said that participants from St. Xavier’s School, Nevta have shown exceptional skills in chess during the school level events. He hopes that the participants from the school would be able to perform exceedingly well at the chess tournament to be held on April 28 and April 29.

Furthermore, participants who have deposited the entry fee need to carry copy of their birth certificate and a latest photograph. Only those students who were born on or after 1-January-2005 can enroll for the event. Organisers are Mr Ashok Bhargava, President, JDCA & Mr Sunil Bhargava, Organising Secretary, JDCA. The Chief Arbiter is Shri Vikas Sahu FA.
