Mehul Choksi, the fugitive jeweller accused in the PNB scam denied all allegations in a video on Tuesday. In his first appearance since the PNB fraud broke out, Mehul Choksi speaks from antigua hideout and maintained in the video that his ‘Properties Seized Illegally.’ Notably, the Choksi, is wanted in a Rs13000 crore bank fraud and he has spoken on camera for the first time. He has been in Antigua amid efforts in India to nab him.

He also said in the video that ‘All Charges False and Baseless’ and also lashed out at the Enforcement Directorate in a the video the he shot from his hiding in Antigua. He claimed that all charges levelled against him are baseless and have no proof.
Meanwhile, in another report former RBI chief Raghuram Rajan has blamed that banks have been over-enthusiastic regarding loans and this has caused for bad loans.
Notably in the PNB scam- PNB money laundering scam, Mehul Choksi is a co-accused along with Nirav Modi. Mehul Choksi and his firm Gitanjali Gems have been accused in the Rs13,000 PNB banking fraud. Choksi is reportedly a relative (uncle) of Nirav Modi who is a billionaire jeweler and both of them are accused in the PNB fraud case.

In the video statement, the wanted fugitive also said that he did not get any response from authorities after his passport was suspended.
