The Padmaavat row took another twist and turn on Monday after Karni Sena has declared that it is open to watching Bhansali’s Padmaavat ahead of its pan-India screening on January 25. Meanwhile, sources said that the group’s volunteers might be dissatisfied with their leader’s decision and there could be lot of commotion and damage to property as soon as Padmaavat releases on January 25.
On Monday, Karni Sena leader and founder Lokendra Singh Kalvi has reportedly told media that he agrees to watch Padmaavat. The leader said this after meeting meeting chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Aditynath.
Meanwhile, the Rajasthan and MP government have approached the Supreme Cout on the issue. On the other hand, it is learnt that the Sena gourp might create ruckus during the screening as warning letters to cinema hall owners who had decided to screen the movie after a nod by the Supreme Court recently.
However, some cinema hall owners have decided not to screen the movie looking at the fierce opposition by the Karni Sena and other groups.

On Monday protests against the movie continue in Rajasthan, MP, Gujarat and Gurugram where activists damaged cinema halls, cineplexes, caried out protest marchs and all burnt effigy of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
It is also learnt that the row might get fused due to Kalvi’s call but it may not die down and it could trigger into a ‘Janta curfew’ in halls, as is reportedly claimed by Karni Sena.
In his address before the media Kalvi has said that the censor board should exercise its power under section (6) and recall the screening of Padmaavat.

Notably, six states including Rajasthan and Haryana and BJP states in north India have banned the film from screening in their states.
ANI reports that Karni Sena workers distribute letter to theatre owners against film ‘Padmaavat’. It is also learnt that Mumbai And Haryana Police have decided to provide security to cinema halls which will be screening Padmaavat on January 25 onward.

Meanwhile, the filmmaker Bhansali has made all the preparations for the release of the film on January 25 in the states where the government has approved its release. The film has been edited and modified as per the suggestions of the Censor board which has proposed the film’s name to be changed to Padmaavat.
