Padmaavat performs well, earns 90 crore

Padmaavat continues to perform well at the box office. On Friday, after the holiday, the film got the best audience count on Saturday and Sunday.

It may not be a far guess as the SLB movie could have crossed the 100 crore mark on Sunday.

Wednesday – 50 million
Thursday 19 million
Saturday 27 million
Total earnings so far above 83 crore.

On the second day of release, ‘Padmavat’ has shown tremendous boom in earnings. This is the figure which was expected from this movie. Taking advantage of Friday’s holiday, the film deposited Rs32 crore on the ticket window.

If it had been released in all the states, earnings would have been tremendous, it seems. It is missing from all the major cities like Indore, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Jaipur. Due to the Karnataka shutdown, the film could be seen on Thursday evening.

Distributors and multiplexes in many areas are avoiding screening of this film due to fears of disruption and damage by the Karni Sena.

It is said that since the total input cost of the film might be around 200 crore, the film would not be a profit making affair for SLB until it get near to this mark or surpass it. Notably, Padmavat is being released in Tamil and Telugu languages along with Hindi.

In India, presently it is being screened on nearly 3400 theatres and multiplexes only.
