The no confidence motion against NDA government has been defeated and dropped as 325 MPs gave their answers in no. 126 MPs came in support of the proposal.
There was presence of all MPs in the House. In view of the numbers, the strength of the test has already ended with the strong government getting the support of AIADMK and the decision to stay away by BJD-TRS polling. The eyes are now focused on the turmoil between the government and the opposition during the discussion. Significantly, there are currently 534 members in the Lok Sabha.
The No-Confidence Vote against Modi government seems to have come out to be a dampener for people who were hoping to see Modi government escalating to new heights. This has also come out to be an eye-opener for Modi government as there has been much criticism about the working of the government and its economic policies.
However, with mammoth majority in the Parliament, the Modi government has no fear of losing the voting and hence it would be a cake walk for the government. The opposition might loose trust further as this is also being treated as a ‘useless practice.’
Meanwhile Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has reportedly said that Modi Government has been Dividing Society. Notably.the no confidence motion was moved by the Telugu Desam Party and admitted by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Wednesday.
In other update, the 18 Shiv Sena MPs have reportedly decided to abstain from voting and debate on the motion and would not attend Lok sabha on Friday. The Shiv Sena has reportedly said that “Government Made Mistakes.” The absence of Shiv Sena MPs from the No-trust motion is said to be a huge embarrassment to the ruling BJP. Meanwhile, the BJP MPs looked confident of victory.
The latest no confidence motion is the second no-confidence motion against the government in 15 years, with the ruling BJP. The BJD has also tried to sends a strong message to Opposition with a walk-out.
