Nine crore from a total of 17 crore TV homes in India have moved to TRAI’s new framework for DTH and Cable channels that came into effect on 1st of this month.

RS Sharma, Chairman of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) reportedly said that out of these 9 crore TV homes, 6.5 crore homes are of cable TV while 2.5 crore homes are of DTH.

Subscribers Can Choose Monthly Channels/Packs

TRAI’s new setup allow DTH and Cable TV subscribers to choose their own monthly channels and packs. The new rules have also got people confused over the selection process, fee etc.

TRAI To Start Awareness Campaign Soon

To handle this, TRAI has reportedly said that it will start consumer awareness programmes through advertisements, social media and more.
