The new India political map released by Indian government seems has been challenged by Nepal. While stating that Kalapani region is in their territory, the friendly nation Nepal has objected and said that the correction should be made.

Notably, the Indian government released the new political map of India which includes the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh. The Nepal government has reportedly said that the Kalapani area lies within Nepalese territory and stated that the matter should be resolved on the basis of evidence from historical documents.

Kalapani is a territory disputed between India and Nepal, however administrated as part of Pithoragarh district in the Uttarakhand state of India. It is situated on the Kailash Manasarovar route, at an altitude of 3600 meters.

Meanwhile, in a formal communication, the Ministry of External Affairs India has said that the map released by India is accurate.
