While it is known that proper sleep is important, a new study published in Journal of American College of Cardiology, has shown that sleeping less than six hours at night or poor quality sleep could lead to heart disease.

In order to derive the results, accelerometers were attached to the waists of 3,974 healthy women and men by the researchers. The same process was done for over seven nights to find out the duration and quality of sleep.

Miraculous Findings
Factors such as diabetes, fasting glucose and cholesterol were controlled and it was concluded that those who slept for less than six hours were 27% more prone to suffer from heart problems.
