Former UN chief Kofi Annan passes away aged 80

Former UN secretary-general and Nobel Peace Prize winner for humanitarian work Kofi Annan died at the age of 80 in Geneva where he was receiving a medical care.

Former UN secretary-general and Nobel Peace Prize winner for humanitarian work Kofi Annan died at the age of 80 in Geneva where he was receiving a medical care.

He was currently the Chairman of the Kofi Annan Foundation.

He was the 7th Secretary- General of the United Nations. He was the first black Secretary-General of the UN and had served from the year 1997 to year 2007. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in the year 2001.

The world mourns his death. May his soul rest in peace #RIP #KofiAnnan. He fought well for world peace and has been helping to shape towards world peace.
