After a long absence from the Indian market, Jawa motorcycles is back. Jawa bikes used to be very popular in 1960s and 70s. The manufacturer launched three bikes on November 15th for the Indian market.
Three New Motorcycles Unveiled
The three news bikes unveiled are Jawa, 42 (spelled as Jawa Forty Two) and Perak. While Jawa has been priced at Rs1.64 lakh, Jawa 42 and Perak are priced at Rs1.55 lakh and Rs1.89 respectively. Both Jawa and 42 will be available early next year. On the other hand, Perak’s booking dates have not been revealed yet.

Jawa/ Jawa 42 Have 293cc Engine
Jawa and 42 are powered by 293cc liquid-cooled, DOHC engine which develops 27bhp power and 28Nm of torque. Jawa Perak has its own 334cc liquid cooled, single cylinder engine that will develop 30bhp of power and 31Nm of torque.
Royal Enfield, Jawa’s Competitor
The brand Jawa had the only competitor in 60s, the Royal Enfield who has not seen any competition from so many decades. Mahindra’s plant, Pithampur is the place where the new bikes will be made.
64 Outlets Soon
In Major cities, 64 stores will be opened till the beginning of next month. By February 2019, test drives and deliveries of the bikes are expected to get started. However, advance bookings for the same have started at an amount of Rs5,000.
