  • India biggest two-wheeler market.
  • Relief in traffic, congested and narrow streets.
  • India first country to get this feature.

India is the biggest market of two-wheeler in the world having sold 17.7 million units last year ahead of China which sold 16.8 million units. India being the diverse market for all the world techies is the only country to have this feature right now. Google earlier launched its UPI app Tez which was again launched first in India. It shows how India, being an emerging economy is becoming an experimental lab not only for technology companies like Google(Google for India) but also for soft skill industries like Hollywood which is releasing its films first in India rather than other countries.

Google has been fairly active in rolling out India-centric feature and apps.

Addition of two-wheeler feature in google maps will make it easier for commuters in traffic and narrow streets will be shown, passing through them isn’t easy for 4 wheeler.

Google maps launched two-wheeler maps exclusively in India.

The estimated time of arrival (ETA) shown in ‘two-wheeler mode’ might just be slightly less than that for the car. The feature will reportedly show parking status at the destination as well, along with road closures on the way. We can see how Google and other techies are making apps and product India-centric and we can hope more such features in near future.
