Monsoon Rains May Start Withdrawing This Month End: With the delayed withdrawal, the country nearly escaped a scare of drought-conditions this year as rainfall measured 10% below normal levels since the beginning of the monsoon season.
The monsoon rains in India are here for at least one more week and it is expected to start withdrawing towards the end of this month which is almost a month behind schedule since the monsoon normally begins to withdraw from September 1.
IMD: The Southwest Monsoon May Start Withdrawing This Month End
According reports, Indian meteorological department (IMD) has suggested that the withdrawal of Southwest monsoon is likely to commence from parts of Northwest India towards the end of this month.

The monsoons in India usually begin in June and end by September. The withdrawal of monsoon has been delayed by nearly four weeks compared to 2017. Anomalies In Rainfall This Year
Independent weather forecasting agencies, Skymet and US based AccuWeather reportedly already warned of anomalies in monsoon season this year. Skymet in August has reportedly told that India could see below rainfall this year with rainfall measuring up to 92% of average.
