Chinese smartphone brands in India now account for a astounding 66% of all phones sold in the country, shows a latest report by Counterpoint Research.
Indian OEMs Have Been Pushed Out Of Business
Smartphones in India have been experiencing an insurgence from brands in China for a while now, and it has been quite some time since Indian Original Equipment Manufactures (OEMs) have been stood out of business, or deep into the shadows.
As of Q1 2019, the Chinese brands accounted a further rise in market share, with the likes of Oppo and Vivo considerably adding to the overall growth.
Xiaomi At The First Position
As per the report, Xiaomi still leads the Indian smartphone market with 29% market share in Q1 2019, down from 31% in Q1 2018.
