As per the official State Bank of India twitter account post, bank accouont holders of all those banks which have lately merged into SBI viz. Bharatiya Mahila Bank, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, State Bank of Raipur, State Bank of Travancore, and others will have to get new cheque books as the IFS codes of some branches of SBI have changed after the merger.
The deadline is December 31 and post this date, the old bank account cheque books won’t be valid. Notably, SBI has extended the deadline from the earlier September 30 to December 31 recently. So if you are one of the bank account holders of the erstwhile banks named above then its time to rush to your base branch of SBI and request for a new cheque book
