Bharat Bandh Madhya Pradesh updates
In order to make sure that no objectionable and provoking messages are circulated during the bandh, internet services were remained blocked in Jabalpur on Thursday. Notably, ‘Bharat bandh’ has been called by 35 organisations in Madhya Pradesh and it is in protest against SC/ST Amendment Act following which security has been beefed up. As per latest reports, Section 144 was imposed across MP. Prohibitory orders have been imposed under Section 144 in other sensitive areas as well. Private schools, markets remain closed as a precautionary measure.
The Bharat Bandh has been called by upper caste groups against the amendments in SC/ST (Prevention in the Atrocities) Act which was passed in the Parliament last month.
As per sources information, High alert was issued in 35 districts in MP in view of #BharatBandh against amendments in SC/ST Act. 34 companies of security forces and 5000 security personnel were also deployed. Section 144 imposed in several districts in #MadhyaPradesh

In the desert state Rajasthan, all the shops in Ajmer remained closed in the view of #BharatBandh called by various local, state level and national organisations against amendments in SC/ST Act.
Bharat Bandh Varanasi updates
As per reports, a large number of people in Varanasi also held protest during #BharatBandh called against amendments in SC/ST Act
Notably, the upper caste groups have organsied the bandh as they want a rollback of an amendment bill passed by Parliament and restoring the provisions of the SC/ST Act.
As part of Bandh, several trains were forcibly stopped, railway tracks were blocked and no vehicular traffic was allowed on national and state highways by the protestors in Bihar and several other states of the country.
