The #AbBadlegaRajasthan lehar seems to have begun. New chief minister Ashok Gehlot has taken charge and is assisted by one of the best party men Sachin Pilot in Rajasthan.

Call it a new wave in favour of Congress party or anti-incumbency, the Congress party is able to wrest power from BJP. It had seemed obvious in the beginning as dissatisfaction was ripe among the masses and Modi’s charisma seemed to have been overshadowed in Rajasthan by angst against outgoing chief minister Vasundhara Raje.

Although, it was not a one-sided clear cut win for Congress but BJP’s count seems to be self-explanatory that Rajasthan repeats its trend of shuffling between Congress and BJP.

The wave of change was not altogether against BJP and though it was certainly in favour of Congress which had been predicting its return since day 1 of campaign.

Over 74 per cent voting also hinted that there will be a change and it had changed. However, Congress’ tally remaining at 99 only was shocking as it was expected to get a clear-cut majority. The independents as well as dissatisfied lot from the BJP seems to have played the spoilsport.

Now that Ashok Gehlot is back as CM of Rajasthan and Sachin as his deputy, there seems to be happy days ahead for both Congress party as well as the people of the state. It has already started raining offers with the announcement of farmers’ loan waiver within 10 days. Gehlot has also reiterated that he would be fulfilling all the promises made in the manifesto. Loan waiver was one of them.

The ceremony at Albert Hall

The swearing in ceremony of the newly designates Ashok Gehlot as chief minister and Sachin Pilot as deputy CM began at 10 AM in front of historic Albert hall of Jaipur. The ceremony was attended by Congress president Rahul Gandhi, former PM Manmohan Singh and other Congress stalwarts.
