Amidst the Interconnect Usage Charge (IUC) tussle and the charges of 6p/minute, Airtel has come up with a breather to its users by stating that it will continue to offer free calls to other networks.

Notably, the IUC charges are reportedly proposed to be scrapped from 2020 and these are the charges that one operator pays to its rival operators for connecting calls of its users to their network users. Meanwhile, there are reports that TRAI might continue to defer any decision of abolishing the zero-IUC regime.

Notably, Jio has started charging 6p/min as IUC charges from its customer for all recharges post October 10. It is reportedly known that this has come out to be a problem for Jio customers and a lot of them have reportedly started porting to Airtel and other networks which offer truly free calls to all the other networks.
