The national carrier Air India was not able to pay salary for most of the months of last year to its over 20,000 employees. Air India like other enterprises of the public sector has to pay salary to its employees on the last day of every month.

An airline official reportedly said that Air India has failed to pay salary of the month of December to its complete staff even till 7 January.

When asked when the payment will be done, an Air India spokesperson has reportedly told media that the payment procedure is under process.

It is also reportedly known that the spokesperson was not able to tell a fix time on when the payment will be completed.
