With an aim to cover around 3.5 lakh children below the age of five, the Gurugram district health department will begin a three-day long intensified polio immunization drive in the district from March 10. Similar, immunization campaign will be run in many other cities of India including the metros.
1,276 Booths Will Be Set Up
Reportedly, around 1,276 booths will be set up in different areas for the drive. Gurugram district urban nodal officer, Dr MP Singh Reportedly said that the focus is on clusters and remote areas. Notably, the campaign was originally scheduled on February 3.

Reportedly, Haryana was declared polio-free in 2014. However, regular drives are being conducted as the officials said, the district witnesses a huge number of migration each year. The drives are being conducted as a precaution to make sure that the virus does not come back.
