Search Giant Google is Shutting down its Facebook, Twitter Competitor Google+ for consumer (personal) accounts on 2 April 2019

Here is the official announcement by Google regarding the close down of Google Plus. Google now invites users to download their photos and posts before the accounts are deleted. There will be no effect of this on Gmail or other Google products and those remain active.
