‘Do not be upset its Holi’ (Bura Na mano Holi Hai), using these words, anti-social elements seem to have been making women their prey during Holi for the last many centuries. But this time, in the national capital Delhi, using these words, some youths of distorted mindset seem to have done a horrific act. The act seem to be blot on the face of everyone.

Two girls of one women’s college affiliated to Delhi University had to suffer when some youths threw balloon filled with semen on them in the name of Holi.

One of girls is said to have described the horrific incident stating that she does not allow anyone to throw balloons on her but what if a girl is walking alone on the road and some uninvited throw it on her. She has also reportedly described the incident on social media stating that one of the balloon had hit her back and when she turned around to look what happened another one struck at her feet after some seconds. Taken aback the girl could not move  She could not move after that and after a minute she heard “HAPPY HOLI”. She could not analyze what happened, She felt so helpless and thought about worst things including what if they come back then what she is going to do. Should she shout and gather crowd so as to teach a lesson to the hooligans or move forward and ignore what has happened.

The girl should stand against such an act by mischievoious youth and teach them a lesson as throwing balloons of semen on women does not prove their masculinity. It’s a shameful act, cowardly act and blemishes the featival of colours – Holi.

It seems that people have taken the whole concept of “Bura na mano hoi hai” in another sense and a recourse that they could anything in the name of Holi, even throw balloons full of semen on girls.

One of the girls on Instagram shared her experience and had shared her agony as well.

It is learnt that the victims girls have posted the information on Instagram and the messages have become viral on the social media. Meanwhile, the Women’s College had reportedly called an emergency meeting to mull over such incidents on Holi.

According to the information posted by the girls, they were going for a lunch with their friend when a balloon was thrown at them and it burst on one of the girl’s clothes and whatever was filled in that balloon had stained her clothes. After a while, strange smell came out of the substance, and the girls smelled it and confirmed that it was not water and was something strange.

After the incident, the Student Union of the college is also said to have released an official statement on Facebook. On the other hand, the Proctor office of Delhi University has already issued new guidelines for Holi.

Something is extremely wrong with these guys. “Boys will be Boys” is nothing more than a delusory chauvinist expression we are holding plus bearing till this day.
