Chief Minister Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje presented the fifth and final budget of her current term in the state Assembly on Monday. A closer look at the budget given an impression that the upcoming assembly elections scheduled at end this year have a great impact on the budget.

Efforts seem to have been made to lure the biggest vote bank, farmers by giving them loan waiver and the urban voter by relief to the traders and promising job opportunities, free bus travel for RPSC examinees to the youth. It also seems that the budget is a gesture is to appease the businessmen class which is angry after Demonetisation and the GST.

Rajasthan-budget-2018-19 Highlights

In order to overcome the problem of stalling of many big projects due to stoppage of digging of gravel, small leases of gravel mining will be issued.

The Chief Minister Raje has made another major announcement for the farmers in the budget. This would benefit about 50 lakh farmers of the state. In the budget speech, Raje announced the waiver of land revenue on agricultural land. It is said that it will benefit 50 lakh farmers of the state. Raje also announced reduction in the amount due on the residential use of agricultural land in rural areas.

In the budget, the DLC rates for affordable houses has also been slashed. Existing DLC ​​will be reduced by 10 per cent.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has announced establishment of Merchant Welfare Board in Rajasthan. A provision of Rs10 crore has been made for this fund. Also announced employment subsidy in the budget. Raje said that Rajasthan has benefited 625 crores from GST.

In Rajasthan announced the increase of mess allowance to policemen. This will benefit about 80 thousand policemen in the state.

To overcome the problem of pollution, a special scheme has been set up for Jaipur. Under this, 40 electric buses will be run through JCTSL.

The state’s youth cricketer Kamlesh Nagarkoti announced to give 25 lakh rupees for outstanding performance in under-19 World Cup. The Chief Minister said that the ‘Youth Icon Scheme’ will be implemented to encourage sports talent.

The Chief Minister announced the Antyodaya Yojana on the name of former Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat. Under this scheme loan of 50 thousand rupees will be made available to Antyodaya families.

The Chief Minister announced a fund for specially abled persons. She said that one crore rupees will be made for this fund.

Recruitments will be made on 77 thousand posts lying vacant in the education field. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje made many announcements to improve the educational level. She also announced Recruitment on vacant posts, taking services of retired staff, upgrading schools and announcing new colleges.

In Rajasthan, the farmers will get a loan waiver up to an amount of 50,000 rupees till 30th September and interest on overdue. This will give the state government an eight thousand crore rupees burden. A State Agriculture Loan Commission will also be set up.
