Election remain peaceful amidst video controversy in late Jayalalithaa’s constituency RK Nagar in Tamil Nadu
Votes were cast on Thursday during the polling on the Radhakrishna Nagar constituency of Tamil Nadu began which is the seat from where late late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s used to contest elections. DMK leader and candidate N Marudhu Ganesh was among those who caste their votes first during the early hours of voting. The seat is said to be a prestige issue for the AIADMK which is represented by candidate E Madhusudanan while rebel leader Dhinakaran, is contesting as an independent candidate
The voting remained peaceful but throughout the day the controversy over the video release of the last day of Jayalalithaa during her time in Apollo hospital remained a talk of the town.
Explosion in a mill in Bihar kills 5
At least 5 people lost their lives while nearly ten others were severely injured when a boiler in installed in a sugar mill situated in Gopalganj district in Bihar blasted on Wednesday night. Taking immediate action, the Bihar police have detained the Sasu Musa Sugar Mill owner for investigation. Initial reports confirm that the boiler blasted due to overheating. As per the reports, there were around 100 men inside the mill when the incident took place and the three who died were very near to the boiler when it blasted. The injured were rushed to the nearest hospitals and it is said that the casualties could rise as some of the injured workers have received more than 90 burns while it is also reportedly learnt that some had stuck inside the mill.

Sachin Tendulkar speech interrupted in Rajya Sabha?
Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar’s first speech in the Rajya Sabha could not finish and was interrupted as the opposition MPs disrupted the proceeding as soon as the news regarding acquittal of 2GScam case accused was out.
The opposition demanded the PM Modi to clarify what he had said about the 2G spectrum decision.
Notably, Tendulkar and actress Rekha were severely criticised for their absence from Rajya Sabha and it was Tendulkar’s second day in the upper house. The first being in August this year.
