INDIA bloc MPs march halted by Delhi Police
A high-voltage protest march by INDIA bloc Members of Parliament was stopped outside the Election Commission headquarters in Delhi today. The MPs were demonstrating against what they termed as ‘undemocratic actions’ in Parliament and alleged bias in electoral processes. Chanting slogans like ‘Vote chor, gaddi chhod’, the leaders accused the government of undermining democratic norms.
Heavy police deployment, several leaders detained
Delhi Police deployed heavy security around the EC headquarters, using barricades to prevent protesters from entering. Several senior leaders, including prominent MPs, were detained for violating Section 144 restrictions in the area. The protest disrupted traffic in central Delhi for several hours before the situation was brought under control.
Political tensions rise ahead of upcoming state polls
The protest comes just months ahead of key state elections, intensifying political rivalry between the ruling party and the opposition bloc.
