The Indian biographical comedy-drama film Pad Man that has hit the Indian screens today has come out to be a great success on day 1. The film starring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, and Radhika Apte in lead roles and written and directed by R. Balki, is able to draw much attention today when a lot of cinema is happening in the real world.

The film which is based on Twinkle Khanna’s a short story book “The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad” has been delivered in the form of cinema in its truest sense by R Balki. Life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, lead in the film is a man who was so moved by the pain and suffering of women menses that he invented a low cost sanitary pad machine and started providing the inexpensive piece of freedom to the women.

The story revolves around the Arunachalam Muruganantham (played by Akshay) and his journey of becoming an entrepreneur. He is depicted as the crazy person who thinks that he can change the world. And he is shown to have changed it.

It seems that the way the film has created a space for itself on the first day will have tremendous response in the days to come Saturday and Sunday and the next week and weeks to come. It seems that the film would soon hit the 100 crore mark in a few days and would surpass it in some time.

Update: January 20, 2018: Akshay Kumar has deferred PadMan release to February 9 in order to avert box-office clash with Padmaavat movie which is scheduled to release on January 25.
